Maine (ME) data center power coverage
Real, sourced large-load tariff and interconnection research on file for Maine — never inferred, never scraped, never implied beyond what's actually been checked.
Large-load tariffs
Maine utilities (Central Maine Power, Versant Power) -- state inquiry, no tariff found
ThresholdNo large-load tariff found
StatusMaine DOER, acting under Executive Order 5, asked utilities to report whether they have large-load tariffs and their eligibility terms, minimum contract lengths, exit fees, minimum charges and financial assurance. This indicates an active proceeding, but no filed tariff or stage was confirmed.

Interconnection & regulatory guidance
Maine — statewide data-center moratorium (through Nov 1, 2027) + Executive Order 5 ratepayer-protection council
Contact guidanceAs of this research, state agencies and municipalities are barred from approving a new large data center at all -- this supersedes any utility-specific interconnection process until the moratorium lifts or is amended. Confirm current status directly before assuming any project above the threshold can proceed.
ThresholdThe moratorium applies to data centers consuming 20 MW or more of power.
ProcessMaine's legislature passed a temporary moratorium on large data center construction running through November 1, 2027 -- reported as the first statewide moratorium of its kind in the US. Separately, Gov. Mills signed Executive Order 5 (April 29, 2026) establishing a Data Center Advisory Council and directing the Department of Energy Resources to coordinate with the Maine PUC on strategies to protect ratepayers from new or increased energy costs tied to data-center development, including the risk of overbuilt generation and stranded utility assets.
