Large-load tariffs
Interstate Power and Light (Alliant Energy Iowa), Rider ICR Individual Customer Rate
Threshold25 MW or more (25,000 kW) at a single metering point, served at 69 kV or above, with an expected 80% load factor and 175,000 MWh a year, or demonstrated ability to curtail to a firm demand level
StatusRider ICR (Substitute Sixth Revised Sheet No. 80, effective Oct 1, 2024) is available only under a written Service Agreement and at IPL's discretion: IPL can decline a customer it judges uneconomic or constrained by generation or transmission. Customers should tell IPL a year before service. The Service Agreement is filed with the Iowa Utilities Commission at least 90 days before service and needs its approval. Minimum term is 5 years, and a longer term can be required. Demand and energy rates are negotiated, but no lower than IPL's expected incremental cost of serving the customer; energy up to a baseline demand can be priced at a fixed or marginal (MISO node) price. Customers not served at transmission voltage pay for the distribution facilities needed. The sheet states no take-or-pay percentage, exit fee or collateral; those terms sit in each Service Agreement. Two agreements are on file as examples (Vulpine Power, TF-2025-0007; QTS, TF-2025-0047). MidAmerican is not covered by this row.
